Semi

Miss Steph and her beau went to their school's Semi-formal this past weekend. Normal teens usually go to great lengths to avoid photos of milestone events such as this. Luckily for me, Steph is not one of those teens. She informed me that I was to go to the beau's parents home and photograph them. Happily I agreed.

He got her a beautiful corsage. Can I get an "awwwww"? Remember your first corsage? Didn't you feel all grown up and beautiful? I sure hope she felt that. Cause she looked it. Be still my aching-my-baby's-growing-up-so-fast-mommy heart.

The happy duo. Holy Good-Lookin' Kids, Batman! Miss Steph informed me that this was her favorite photo 'cause she loves his eyes when he laughs. He's pretty cute, though. You do good work, Mr. and Mrs. M!

Individuals. Gotta get the individuals. Number one because I just like making sure I have them. Number two it prolongs the torture of the teens. Its a win-win! haha

And this one? Well I glanced up and he was doing this. He quickly put his arms down. I asked him to do it again and he did!!! Can you believe it???? He's been around long enough to know that anything, anything is fair game for the blog! Silly, silly boy. You are now officially indoctrinated into the family. You have been blogged.

Now this little guy! This is Willy. I think he stole the show. Definitely the best dressed. If I could have smuggled him out under my coat I would have. Unfortunately he is still safe and sound in his own home. And I? I shall visit him every chance I get. Because I wuv Willy. I weally, weally do.

Must be getting late....better get to bed. It's a short work week but 7am still comes awful early. Got a couple shoots this weekend plus I need to get started on a quilt that's been ordered. Yes, I am a Jack-of-all-trades. :)

Eye Candy

If you live in the greater Fort Wayne area you may have overlooked one of my favorite places to browse. It's Saxton Nursery & Landscaping.
You know when you walk around the main building that something special waits inside. On my last visit it happened to be a beautiful fall day. Don't you just love the way that blue sky pops the brick? Makes me want a farmhouse. Badly.

And hello!? This is the back door!! Seriously my back door has never and never will look like this. Oh sure, in my dreams it does, but reality? Nope. Nada. Zip. BUT!! That bird bath? I'm totally doing that this season! That I can accomplish.

The next few are some vignettes that the fantastic designers have put together. Wonder if they make house calls? I know they do landscaping....doesn't say anything about decorating. But I'm thinking they should really consider it. If you stop in, ask 'em and let me know, k? K.

A few window scenes. I would like to do this but.....my windows are dirty....what with children, two nosy cats and a dog who's addicted to window glass I will not be able to decorate them for a long time. Maybe I'll print these out and tape them to the windows. That's almost the same, right? Right?! Work with me here, people.

More eye candy. Love, love, love the dried branches and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. I have a sneaking suspicion the husband won't go for it. And those votive holders? If you've seen any like that would you please tell me where? My friend that I went with adored them and I'd like to get her some for Christmas. Before you ask, no, they weren't selling them here. The one thing I really wanted to take home and it wasn't for sale.

So, if you're in the mood for some eye candy, a short trip and maybe some new treasures, Saxton is really worth the trip. Just make sure you tell me what goodies you picked up!

Fresh Country Air

That's what these cuties enjoy every day. And I got to spend some time with them enjoying it also. Their parents are on top of it and decided to get some photos for Christmas gifts. And really, who wouldn't love getting pics of these beauties?

Yeah, I absolutely had to post this photo of the pup. Her tongue totally cracked me up. I do believe she was thinking, "Gah!!! Who's idea was this anyway?!" Yeah, that's gotta be what she was thinking!

And in this one I do believe she's plotting her escape. Who could blame her with all that lovely corn to run in? This field belongs to the family and someday soon it will be a corral for horses. Yeah, those boots aren't just for walking! They are great riders and I can't wait for them to call me and tell me a schedule so I can get some action shots of them. (that was a blatant hint, wasn't it?)

Thanks for spending some time with me, C girls. I had a great time meeting you! And next time I'll definitely know how to find your home! lol

No Cheesy Tree Hugging

I met Miss E on a glorious fall autumn day. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. Especially in Indiana. Its VERY hard to get perfect autumn days here. Rainy, cold, gray? Yep, got that covered. Golden, crisp and pure perfection? Not often. But that's what we got! And let me tell you, the weather matched her personality to a "T". E is so sweet, friendly and just plain sunny that her session was no work at all! She requested some place with trees, lots of trees. BUT she didn't want a cheesy tree-hugging shot. So, we played in the leaves instead. Now tell me, how cute is she?

Her other request was the footbridge leading to the local college. Miss E takes some classes here plus her regular school classes. Plus, she just finished the soccer season with her school team. They took second in state for the second year in a row. How cool is that?

This is one of my favorites from her session. She looks so confident and self-assured here. Oh, and by the way, mom, this would look FANTASTIC printed HUGE! Just saying.... ;)

And, because we knew we got the gold with this shot and she was so excited, I had to share it as well. See? Told you she was absolutely adorable. Even on a muddy river bank!

E, I hope you like your sneak peek!

Eye Candy

I got to spend some time with a sweet senior the other night and as the session ended I was treated to this:

The light has been just divine lately. So, who's with me in welcoming Fall and all her beautiful golden light? I sure hope she stays around a while....I'm not looking forward to the cold white stuff...

The Light

Just had to share a quick one of my girl, Danielle. I was sitting on some steps, looked up and saw how the sun was just making her glow. Almost like it waited all day for her to come out. Don't you just love the magical feel of early evening sun? I do. wish I could bottle it for the cold, gray winter months that are looming on the horizon. Since I can't though, I'll just pull this photo out and revisit it. She definitely makes me happy.

On a business note, if you're interested in custom Christmas cards, canvases or prints the deadline is coming quickly so give me a jingle! I'd love to design something just for you. As always

Did You Know She's A Grandma? {St. Joe, Indiana Photographer}

I recently had the pleasure of heading out to the country to photograph a dear friend's family. I've known her many years and she decided that it was high time she had a new family portrait. Especially since her family has grown by leaps and bounds the past few years. Here's the whole group:

Aren't they adorable? They had so much fun in there! They kept going back in. I did manage to pull them out to get some individual family shots. Here's the lovely K & R. Aren't they just cuter than a bug? Oh, and she's expecting another little bug! Yup, the family is going to grow some more!

And here's the beautiful new family of C, J & M. Such a cute, cute family! I just loved the little guy. You parents are nice too, but who can resist a little dude who's as stylin' as this? I do believe he was looking at dad in this shot. And I do believe he was asking him just, "why? why was am i being tortured by being forced to get pictures taken?" I tell ya, a man's phobia of being in photographs starts young! ;)

This one's just for grandma. Did I mention her family's been growing? Did I mention she's a grandma? I am certain that she is going to just eat this one up!!!

Oh, and grandpa? Grandpa is smitten. Totally in love. Probably would do just about anything for the little guy. And it shows. Yes, it surely does show...

Thanks M+G family for spending a chilly fall morning with me. I had a blast and, as always, you guys are just a hoot to be around. I can't wait to meet that new little one in the spring!
